Wow! May is here already! Now all we have to do is wait for the weather to act like it is May!!!
We will be finishing up our Language Arts unit on Author Studies. Ask your child about an "Author's Fingerprints"! We have focused on Robert Muncsh, Ted Arnold and Mo Willems. Students have been using the techniques of authors in their own writings as well! In Math, we continue to work on adding and subtracting two digit numbers, including regrouping. We will complete this unit next week. Students are taking home Math book Part 1! But we will continue to review and end the year in book 2 with measurement and time. We will be completing our studies in Science on investigations providing evidence that Vibrating materials can make sound and that sound can make materials vibrate, and the effects of placing objects made with different materials in the path of a beam of light. We will end the year focusing on engineering design and STEM activities. In Social Studies, our focus will be Economics, learning why businesses and industries need specially trained workers, and understanding the difference between a private business and public goods and services. Spring Music Concert will be held at 9:00 a.m. on May 19th at the Rhinelander High School Auditorium. The Snack Calendars for May and June have been posted on the Snack Schedules tab. We have several missing pedometers. Some students have been forgetting to take them off at the end of the day. Please check at home to see if your child has one! Thank you! On May 26th, we will be having a Maker Faire at 12:45-2:30. Separate information from the office will be sent home.
